How to Read Rashifal

Rashifal uses your Chandra Rashi (Moon sign) as the 1st house and assigns house numbers to all other signs from there. When you select your Moon sign, the calculator shows where each of the 9 planets is currently transiting relative to your sign. The most important placements to watch are Jupiter (1st, 5th, 9th, 11th from Moon is favorable), Saturn (12th, 1st, 2nd from Moon triggers Sade Sati), and Rahu-Ketu (axis across your chart).

Rashifal (also spelled Rashiphal) is the Vedic horoscope for each of the 12 rashi signs, based on current planetary transits. It shows how the current positions of the 9 planets relate to your Moon sign (Chandra Rashi). Unlike a natal chart reading, Rashifal uses your Moon sign as the 1st house and counts house positions for all transiting planets from there.
In Vedic astrology, Rashifal is based on your Chandra Rashi -- your Moon sign, not your Sun sign. The Moon sign is the foundation of Vedic chart interpretation and the primary reference for transit analysis. The house number shown for each planet is counted from your Moon sign as the 1st house. For example, if your Moon sign is Taurus and Saturn is currently in Cancer, Saturn would be in the 3rd house from your Moon sign (Taurus=1st, Gemini=2nd, Cancer=3rd). This house position is what Rashifal uses to interpret how Saturn's current transit is affecting you.
Jupiter and Saturn are the most significant planets to watch in Rashifal because they move slowly and stay in each sign for 1 year and 2.5 years respectively. Rahu and Ketu are also important because they shift signs every 18 months. The Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, and Venus move faster and create shorter-term influences. The placement of Jupiter and Saturn from your Moon sign is the core of most traditional Rashifal predictions.
